Puttaparthi: Important places
Puttaparthi is the abode of Lord Satya Sai Baba. It is located in Anantpur district, Andhra Pradesh. 1. Temple of lord Ganesha (the remover of obstacles): This is the most popular shrine in the Pristine environs of Prashanthi Nilayam. Lord Ganesha has the power to confer intelligence, Prosperity and protection. 2. Gayatri temple: Devotees pray to goddess Gayatri for wisdom and fluent speech. 3. Shirdi Sai Baba statue: It is of seven feet tall idol installed on rock . 4. Vatavuriksha: The banyan tree of meditation. The swami himself planted this sapling on 29-06-1959 and also materialized a metal. Plate with “Yantra”(mystic) markings devotees are allowed to meditate under this tree. 5. Prasanthi Mandir: This granite structure containing 22 floors was inaugurated in 1950. Swami grants interviews to devotees in a room behind an alter pleasant in this mandir. 6. Poornachandra auditorium: It was built in the year 1972. Swamiji gives divine discourses here. 7. Sai Kulvanth hall (darshan ground): It is located in between the Swamiji’s residence (Poornachandra building) and the Prasanthi mandir. 8. Tomb of the parents of the Bhagavan . The parent's mortal remains are housed in this mausoleum. 9. kalpauriksha (tree of boons): this is a tamarind tree situated on a hill. It is believed that this tree has the power of fulfilling one’s wishes devotees used to pluck any fruit their choice on the directions of the swamy. 10. Gokulam (the mother dairy): which supplies milk to the ashram . There is a beautiful picture of lord Krishna, which is said to have been painted by the Swami Himself. 11.
