Dharamshala: Buddhist shrine

 Set amidst luxuriant greenery, snow-capped peaks and cascading waterfalls, Dharamshala forms one of the most popular hill stations of India. Situated at the foothills of Dhauladhar ranges, the hill resort promises one the mesmerizing views of the steep valleys, deodar forests and pine covered hills. Today Dharamshala has become synonymous to the Tibetan Government in exile and the home of Tibetan leader Dalai Lama. Serving as the residence of His Holiness Dalai Lama since his exile, this monastery forms a very important destination for Buddhist pilgrims coming to India. Situated in the centre of Tibetan Studies, it forms one of the first places visited by tourists coming here. Church of St. John In the Wilderness is an Anglican church known for its peaceful environs and offers tourists the perfect option of a spiritual sojourn. If someone is looking for some adventure, Triund is just the perfect destination. The jungles of rhododendrons and oaks that tourists pass on the way help to explore the wildlife of the region, comprising of goats, black bear and pigs. The Chamunda Devi temple, which falls on the way is a must visit excursion. The surrounding forest and the river flowing just behind it add to the experience. The most attractive tourist spot in Dharamshala, Dal Lake, is renowned for its scenic beauty and the cool ambience. It is the best base camp for trekkers. Taking a holy dip in this lake is considered to remove all miseries. Hill stations: Shimla

 Shimla needs no introduction. Nestled in the picturesque Himachal Pradesh, Shimla is no less than a tourist hotspot.
